Do-It-Yourself Bunny Toys

As mentioned in the previous posts, do-it-yourself toys are a great way to keep your bunny entertained, while keeping costs low. I have also discussed about the cardboard castle that was mentioned in one of the websites.
What are some other ways that you can create such toys?
Firstly, I feel that toilet roll tubes are the best do-it-yourself toys. In one of my earlier posts, I have said to try out the '
Roll-in-Hay' toy which allows bunnies to entertain themselves with the toilet roll tubes and enjoy eating hay at the same time.

The Roll-in-Hay is effective as my bunny, Sweetie, had enjoyed playing with the tube. She tossed the tube around, chewed on it and rolled it from one point to another, while trying to get a taste of the hay. It was indeed an entertaining toy for bunnies.
Apart from the 'Roll-in-Hay', I have created another version of a 'do-it-yourself' toy for bunnies. My idea was largely inspired by the metal hay ball available at pet stores. This metal hay ball allows you to fill it with hay and hang it at the top of your bunny cage. Its purpose is also relatively similar to the 'Roll-in-Hay' as it incorporates both food and entertainment.
By combining the idea from the metal hay ball, as well as the Roll-in-Hay, this is what you get:
In order to create this toy, I have used a toilet roll tube, a chain (from one of my accessories), and aluminum foil.

With playtime being another important aspect of a bunny's life, it is necessary to continually seek ways to keep your bunnies entertained at all times. There can actually be countless of ideas for DIY toys. As a head-start, you can find some ideas at

Personally, I love the various ideas that have been suggested by the author. Apart from tubes, she has suggested ideas such as towels, phone books, boxes, cups and even caps. With the various ideas for DIY toys, you can 'pamper' your bunnies like kings and queens!

Cool!!! I didnt know bunnies are so playful that they need toys as well!
Haha! :) Yes! :) They are pretty much like humans, and can be bored easily :D
